The Miss South Africa Organisation’s television show, Crown Chasers is in the running for a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTA).
The five-part Crown Chasers, produced by Weil Entertainment and aired in 2023 on S3, was nominated in the Best Competition Reality Show category.
Presented by the Miss South Africa Organisation, it gave a behind-the-scenes look at the Miss South Africa competition and what it really takes to win the crown. The finalists competing for the crown were placed in real-life Miss South Africa scenarios that included a series of challenges based on the four pillars of Miss South Africa- duty, championship, empowerment, and beauty.

It is not the first time the Miss South Africa Organisation has been nominated for a SAFTA. Last year, the 2022 Miss South Africa live show also earned a SAFTA nomination for Best Entertainment Programme.
At the helm of the Miss South Africa Organisation is CEO, Stephanie Weil, who was delighted with the selection. She said, “It is a tremendous honour to be nominated once again for such a prestigious award. We took a risk when it came to Crown Chasers and our determination to give a fresh perspective to pageantry but it has paid off. We are delighted that television viewers embraced the show and that we have again been recognised by the SAFTAs,” Weil added.
Miss South Africa is presented by Weil Entertainment in association with Sun International. S3 is the official broadcast partner. Visit https://www.misssa.co.za for more information.
